Xbox Executive Clarifies Grand Theft Auto VI Will Not Be Streamed to PC

Xbox Chief Strategy Officer Matthew Ball clarified rumors surrounding Grand Theft Auto VI's streaming. He stated that Xbox looks forward to the game launching on the platform on November 19, but it will not be exclusively streamed on Xbox, nor will it be streamed to PC.

Previously, Xbox CEO Asha Sharma mentioned a "special plan" for the title during an internal meeting. The Verge cited insiders who interpreted this plan as Xbox securing exclusive streaming rights for the game. Ball later responded to related reports on social media, denying this interpretation.

Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on consoles first, with no native PC version announced alongside the console release. Therefore, if the earlier claim of exclusive streaming were true, PC players might have been able to experience the game at launch via cloud gaming without a native version. Ball's response refuted this inference.

Ball did not specify which other devices or services will offer streaming for the game in the future, nor did he explain what Sharma's "special plan" specifically entails. What has been clarified so far are the claims regarding Xbox-exclusive streaming and streaming to PC.
