Recently, SEGA and Creative Assembly released a game overview video for Total War: SHOGUN 2 - Definitive Edition, showcasing the changes in this upgraded version compared to the original. The game is scheduled for official release on October 13, with upgrades covering graphics, campaign, and gameplay features.
Game Overview:
On the technical side, the new version upgrades to a 64-bit architecture, supports borderless fullscreen, and provides UI scaling for 1440p, 4K, and ultrawide screens. Textures, models, lighting, shadows, fog, and environmental details have also been improved, with the addition of anti-aliasing and resolution upscaling options.
The campaign section adds adjustable settings for the "Division under Heaven" mechanic and quick diplomatic agreements, along with over 50 officially playable minor factions. Battlefield controls have updated hotkeys and an added bird's-eye view; the interface and convenience features are also further customizable.
The new version also offers optional 2.5D campaign cutscenes in a ukiyo-e style. Language support includes Japanese and Chinese, with newly added Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, and Latin American Spanish.
