Aniplex and Crunchyroll have announced that the animated adaptation of Ghost of Tsushima: The Legend of the Underworld has been delayed to 2028 on Crunchyroll, pushing back from the previously scheduled 2027 release. No more specific air date has been provided, and the reason for the delay has not been disclosed.
The voice cast has been expanded with Mayumi Sako and Shinsha Fukumatsu, whose roles have not yet been revealed. Mayumi Sako previously voiced Bar in the original game, while Shinsha Fukumatsu played Bang in One Punch Man.
On the production side, Takafumi Mizuno serves as director at Kamikaze Douga, Gen Urobuchi handles series composition, and co-writes the script with Masaru Maeshima. Other announced staff include composer Keiji Inai, sound director Miwa Iwanami, sound effects editor Koyama Yasumasa, and calligrapher Akira Suzuki, who is responsible for the title lettering.
The animation is produced by HAYATE in collaboration with Aniplex and PlayStation Productions, with Sony Music serving as the music and soundtrack partner.
