Japanese ceramics brand YOYOYO has launched a limited-edition Arita ware piece called "Infinity Blue" to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the Sonic series. Limited to 50 pieces worldwide, each item is numbered. The work features Sonic's iconic blue as its main color, with his running motion depicted as a streamlined infinity symbol to convey the character's sense of speed.
"Infinity Blue" measures 15.6 cm in width, 22.8 cm in depth, and 21.3 cm in height. The price in Japan is 1 million yen (tax included); the overseas price is $7,000, excluding customs duties, other taxes, and shipping fees. Announced delivery regions include Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.
Sales will be conducted through both offline and online lotteries. The piece will make its debut at the "SONIC the Exhibition -ACROSS GENERATIONS-" exhibition, scheduled to open on October 9, where five units will be available for purchase on-site. The remaining units will be distributed via an online lottery. Specific participation rules are subject to the information published on the official website.
Since the release of its first game in 1991, Sonic has expanded into films, animation, music, and merchandise. Details for this 35th-anniversary piece, including limited quantities, regional pricing, and planned lottery channels, have now been announced.
