"ARC Raiders" Launches "Frozen Path" Update, Reaching a Peak of 131,388 Concurrent Players on Steam

Following the release of the "Frozen Path" update for ARC Raiders, the player count on Steam has rebounded. According to SteamDB data, the game's peak concurrent players over the past 24 hours reached 131,388 as of October 8, marking the first time since May that it has surpassed 100,000 players.

This peak represents one of the highest levels seen since April. In the preceding months, concurrent players on Steam mostly ranged between 30,000 and 50,000. However, this peak remains lower than the levels seen during the game's initial launch.

"Frozen Path" is a major update released by developer Embark Studios after a relatively quiet period. Executive Producer Aleksander Grøndal stated in an interview that the team views this round of updates as a relaunch of sorts for the game.

The update launched alongside a free trial period open until October 12, with the game offered at a 50% discount. With new content, the trial, and the sale all running concurrently, current figures make it difficult to determine which factor contributed most to the surge in player numbers. SteamDB data also covers only the Steam platform, so single-day peaks cannot directly represent activity across all platforms or long-term retention.
