Former Activision CEO Bobby Kotick has joined the Skydance board of directors, an appointment disclosed in new U.S. securities filings. This board adjustment comes after Paramount completed its acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery and integrated related businesses.
The new board consists of 13 members, including several figures from the entertainment industry. Philanthropist Laurene Powell Jobs has also joined the board, while former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair has joined as a board advisor.
Skydance head David Ellison welcomed the new members in a statement, specifically highlighting Kotick's experience in managing global entertainment operations, building enduring brands, and connecting with audiences.
Kotick long led the game publisher Activision. He stepped down as Activision's CEO after Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard King for $69 billion. During his tenure, Activision grew into a major publisher in the gaming industry, though his management was accompanied by controversy. The newly disclosed personnel arrangement does not specify whether he will directly oversee game operations, drive adaptations of titles, or formulate new publishing plans.
