Overwatch New Season Adjusts Jetpack Cat and Cassidy Synergy! Lifeline Cannot Connect During High Noon

The new season patch for Overwatch adjusts the synergy between Jetpack Cat and Cassidy: when Cassidy activates his ultimate ability "High Noon," he will no longer be able to connect to Jetpack Cat's "Lifeline." Previously, Jetpack Cat could connect and carry teammates while flying, allowing Cassidy to search for targets from the air.

"High Noon" requires keeping targets within line of sight. Blizzard stated in the patch notes that Jetpack Cat's ability made it too easy for Cassidy to reposition and secure kills, prompting this restriction. The development team indicated that other ability interactions will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

Currently, Soldier: 76's ultimate ability and Ashe's Bob can still interact with Jetpack Cat's abilities. This reflects the current state of these synergies, and the development team has not yet committed to how these interactions will be handled in the future.

The new season also introduces the new hero Doctrine, along with reworks for Roadhog and Sombra. Roadhog gains "Junk Compressor," which allows him to absorb incoming projectiles and counterattack; Sombra transitions into a support role, replacing some of her old mechanics with new abilities focused on healing and debuffing enemies.
