On October 9, 2026, the Swedish independent game studio Perfect Random announced that the 1.0 update for the Roguelike FPS "Fire Lake" will be released on October 28, 2026.
With this update, "Fire Lake" will conclude its Steam Early Access period and see its official release. Simultaneously, versions for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S are scheduled to launch on the same day.
"Fire Lake" is a Roguelike FPS where players outsmart enemies, find treasures, upgrade weapons, and harness various powers in combat. Combine firearms, equipment, tools, and magic to build your own loadout and explore a perilous world.
■ Modify firearms, stack magic, and craft your own loadout
"Fire Lake" is an action FPS that blends satisfying gunplay, Roguelike elements, exploration, and equipment management.
Players can combine a wide variety of firearms, attachments, oils, tools, equipment, and magic to create their own unique loadouts.
Whether you pursue raw firepower and take risks, or carefully strategize and advance steadily, is entirely up to you. Since loot can be lost, deciding what to take and what to leave behind is equally crucial.
Enhance your weapons, unleash various abilities, and delve deeper into this world filled with dark creatures and cunning demons.
■ Early Access ends on October 28, launching Version 1.0
"Fire Lake" 1.0 marks the end of Early Access and the official release of the base game. It already includes a massive amount of content: over 60 firearms, hundreds of loot items, multiple areas, bosses, enemies, quests, cooking, weapon modifications, and more.
Version 1.0 will deliver a complete playthrough experience from start to finish, along with further balance adjustments, detail polishing, performance improvements, and quality-of-life updates.
Furthermore, coinciding with the official release on October 28, the game is planned to launch on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, in addition to the PC version.
The 1.0 update on October 28 will not include multiplayer mode, nor will it surprise players with a simultaneous multiplayer launch. However, the development team plans to develop it as a post-launch update.
Version 1.0 is not the end for "Fire Lake." The development team will continue to support the game with free updates, gradually adding more firearms, new features, improvements, and other content.
The team is also considering future DLC releases. While there are no specific details to announce at this time, the developers hope the community will remain active in 2027 and beyond.
■ Version 1.0 will add a complete magic system and enemy knockback mechanics
The 1.0 update will implement a complete magic system.
In addition to the integrated magic matrix, four new types of magic will be added.
・ Scroll of Snowman Head
・ Scroll of Water Bomb
・ Scroll of Mud Ball
・ Scroll of Evil Seed
Additionally, the game will introduce enemy knockback mechanics, including interactions with melee weapons, oils, and magic, offering more possibilities for positioning and loadouts in combat.
To ensure meaningful choices and room for experimentation with systems like weapons, equipment, food, magic, and loadouts, the development team is making weapon and equipment balance adjustments, redesigning items, improving progression, polishing controls and UI, optimizing various areas, and fixing numerous bugs for the 1.0 release.
