Atari and Retro Games Ltd have announced the launch of a full-size 800XL replica computer, pre-loaded with 25 games and scheduled to ship starting in April 2027. The new machine is modeled after the Atari 800XL released in 1983 and features a functional mechanical keyboard.
The two companies previously collaborated on The 400 Mini, a miniature replica console released in 2024. This 800XL model adopts a full-size design, offering HDMI output for modern displays, a functional cartridge slot, and includes the Atari BASIC programming language.
Pre-installed games include Asteroids, Crazy Robots, Boulder Dash, Centipede, and Crystal Castles. In addition to the built-in titles, users can also load their own games via USB.
This replica computer is compatible with games from the Atari 400, 800, XL, and XE home computer series, as well as the Atari 5200 console. The product is now available for pre-order at a price of £199.99.
