Star Trek: Voyager – Through the Unknown has launched its free mode, "Q's Trial," alongside its second DLC, "Nova." Owners of the base game can pilot the Voyager into this new mode, embarking on progressively challenging voyages across multiple rounds in the Delta Quadrant.
Random events and sector objectives in "Q's Trial" change with each challenge. Upon reaching the end of a sector, players can choose one reward from Q—resources, a new hero, or new technology—to use in subsequent challenges. The mode's "Q Modifications" also require players to make trade-offs between conditions such as crew capacity, disease risk, construction speed, and morale.
The paid "Nova" DLC introduces the Nova, a ship that can only be piloted in "Q's Trial." Smaller than the Voyager, it has more limited build space, crew capacity, and warp capabilities, requiring players to allocate resources more carefully. The DLC also includes three recruitable heroes and an exclusive Nova mission line; these three heroes will not join the main campaign.
"Q's Trial" is free for all owners of the base game; the "Nova" DLC can be purchased separately or is included in the Expansion Pass. This content is now available on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
