The Outer Worlds 2 Celebrates One Year Since Launch on October 29, Starting with Minor Content Before Promoting New DLC

The official account for The Outer Worlds announced that the team will celebrate the first anniversary of The Outer Worlds 2 on October 29. The anniversary plans will begin with a small “refresh” content drop, followed by the rollout of promotional materials for the new DLC, “Side Effects Guaranteed.”

The developers joked using in-game concepts, stating that this small piece of content is not what one might call a “mental update.” It remains unclear whether it will take the form of a game update, an event, or something else entirely.

Obsidian Entertainment previously teased this DLC in early October via its official social media accounts, using darkly humorous phrases like “passed clinical trials” to kick off the promotional campaign. The team has not yet announced the DLC’s release date, price, gameplay, or story content; October 29 is currently only confirmed as the game’s anniversary milestone, not the DLC launch date.
