Silent Hill Producer Exploring Second and Third Waves of Titles; Future Projects Under Discussion

Akira Yamaoka, producer of the Silent Hill series, stated that the first three announced titles have been released, and he is currently exploring directions for the second and third waves of the series. Konami is discussing multiple projects, but has not yet revealed a specific list or confirmed whether all these concepts will move into production.

These three titles were first announced during the Silent Hill Transmission event in October 2022. In an interview with Famitsu, Yamaoka said the team was satisfied with the completion of this phase and the reception of the games, but emphasized the need to carefully consider the future direction of the series.

Regarding the initial push to bring the series back, Yamaoka explained that relying solely on one remake was insufficient to convince players that Silent Hill would continue to evolve. Previous cancellations of related projects had also left some players skeptical about the revival plans.

Subsequently, Konami approved several titles, including the free-to-play game Silent Hill: The Short Message. The remake of the original Silent Hill has been handed over to Bloober Team, the studio previously responsible for the Silent Hill 2 remake.
