The Switch 2 version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has received a CERO B rating in Japan, suitable for players aged 12 and above. The Nintendo Store page also lists four content descriptors for the game, scheduled for release on November 5, 2026: "Sexual Content," "Violence," "Horror," and "Crime."
In contrast, the original versions previously available on Wii and Wii U, as well as The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D on the 3DS, all received a CERO A rating in Japan.
The author speculates that the presentation in the new version may make existing horror or violent elements more prominent. The rating agency has not yet officially explained the reason for the rating change, and it remains unconfirmed whether the game's content has been altered as a result.
