Players mainly complain about the forced DEI elements in the game, with female characters and other NPCs designed to be unbearably ugly.

A user who played for nearly 30 hours commented: "They just had to throw in some nonsense, and the result is crap. They even included gay elements. The controls feel soft and laggy, nothing like the original team's work. Hurry up and optimize to fix the stuttering, freezing, and frame drops."

Secondly, there are optimization issues. Many users have complained that Gears of War: E-Day suffers from VRAM overflow problems, causing crashes every half hour! Even the RTX 5070 Ti with 16GB of VRAM experiences VRAM overflow, not to mention other graphics cards with less VRAM.

Additionally, the game has other bugs, such as progress desynchronization in multiplayer mode, leading to a terrible experience.
