New Maps, Modes, Rapid Fire Battle Royale, and Dead Space Event Ignite Season 5
Redwood City, California (October 9, 2026) — Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) and the Battlefield studio today released the first preview of Battlefield™ 6 and Battlefield™ Hazard Zone Season 5. With three new maps coming to Battlefield 6, the battlefield extends to Nevada; Hazard Zone introduces Rapid Fire Battle Royale, along with a new operation, a chilling Dead Space™ event, and a series of quality-of-life updates, including significant adjustments to "Blackwell Oil Fields" and "New Sobek City," which will change how players approach tactics on each map.
Season 5 officially kicks off on October 13, with Phase 1 (Siege of Las Vegas) introducing two new maps named "Las Vegas Strip" and "Area 51." Phase 1 brings chaos to the Las Vegas Strip, turning this iconic location into a gripping battlefield. Neon-lit restaurants, intricate tunnels, and multi-layered casinos and hotels make it a surefire hotspot for intense combat. The second map takes players away from the neon city lights to the outskirts of the top-secret Area 51. Wage war among the desert hills and delve into underground facilities at one of America's most notorious locations.
Phase 1 also introduces a new way to experience Battlefield Hazard Zone—Rapid Fire Battle Royale, launching at the start of Season 5 on the Las Vegas Strip. Rapid Fire Battle Royale is a compact, high-intensity variant of Battlefield's battle royale mode, featuring faster-paced rounds and fewer players. In Rapid Fire Battle Royale, the goal remains the same: be the last squad standing. Defeating enemies earns you Redeploy Tokens that allow you to return to the fight, but the number of kills required to earn these tokens increases as the match progresses. Coinciding with Halloween, from October 20 to November 7, a limited-time event will unfold as the Peacekeepers search for hidden technology beneath Area 51, which will feel very familiar to fans of Dead Space. This non-canon event celebrates Everythinggj Dead Space, featuring environments adapted from the 2023 remake and unique cosmetics for players to unlock.
Season 5 Phase 2 (Casino Heist) begins on November 10, introducing the season's third map. The European Casino is one of the most grandiose casinos on the Las Vegas Strip, with secrets hidden deep within its vaults that both the Peacekeepers and NATO are desperate to uncover. This close-quarters combat-focused map is filled with destructible elements, allowing seasoned troops to forge new paths and discover more tactical options.
Season 5 will conclude on December 8 with Phase 3 (Frozen Aces), bringing an unexpected chill to Las Vegas and launching a brand-new operation. This operation will span the Las Vegas Strip and Area 51, as players engage in an epic war aimed at shifting the global balance of power.
