Recently, GTA VI writer Elizabeth Gauvey-Kern discussed the character development of Lucia and Jason. She stated that the actress portraying Lucia brought a lot to the role, convincing the team that they could craft a compelling series protagonist.
In this story centered around their partnership in crime, the creative team wanted both Lucia and Jason to be strong yet vulnerable, with their own flaws. Gauvey-Kern said that the two sometimes make the right calls, sometimes make mistakes, and learn from each other.
Rockstar's Senior Vice President of Narrative, Rupert Humphries, also commented that Jason's experiences and material circumstances would influence his criminal behavior. As for how to view Jason's choices, he leaves that judgment up to the players.
Previously, players speculated that Manni L. Perez was playing Lucia, but Rockstar has not officially confirmed the actor's identity, nor did Gauvey-Kern reveal the name in her interview. GTA VI is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026.
