Final Fantasy VII Remake: Cloud's Voice Actor Recalls 45 Minutes of Moaning for Massage Scene

Recently, Cody Christian, the voice actor for Cloud in Final Fantasy VII Remake, recalled at the Nostalgia Con event that he spent about 45 minutes continuously recording groans, muffled sounds, and sighs into the microphone for the game's hand massage scene.

《最终幻想7:重制版》克劳德配音演员回忆按摩场景:呻吟声录了45分钟

This scene appears in the first installment of the remake trilogy: Cloud visits Mamma's massage parlor in Wall Market, where players can choose different services. The massage intensity ranges from gentle to intense, with Cloud's vocal reactions changing accordingly. Christian had to convey sensations of pain, discomfort, and gradual relaxation through his voice.

Christian said that while these sounds were originally meant to express physical pain and discomfort, they easily came across as intense pleasure, making the recording process particularly embarrassing. Audio Director Kirk, who supervised the recording, joked about these sounds. George Newburn, who also attended the event and had voiced Sephiroth in earlier entries of the series, joined in on the joke.

Christian described the experience as both awkward and amusing, even saying it was difficult to honestly explain to loved ones what he had recorded that day after returning home.
