Sega has revealed the Year 2 content roadmap for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, with updates starting on November 3, 2026. New content includes a free one-on-one versus mode, character and parts updates, as well as paid collaboration DLC.
The Versus Mode allows players to compete one-on-one against CPU opponents, random online players, or friends, using items during races. Boost slots gradually accumulate over time and through item usage; some limited-time online events will also feature special rules, ranks, and medals.
The parts system will add a new panel, providing a seventh special slot, with 15 new parts added at launch. Additionally, free and paid characters released post-launch will also be added to the CPU opponent roster.
Regarding collaboration content, the Godzilla-themed pack is scheduled for release on November 3, 2026, featuring tracks, vehicles, music, and sound effects. Future plans include packs themed around EVANGELION, the virtual Sanrio Rainbow Park, and SEGALAND.
The fifth DLC, tentatively titled "Midgar," is based on the Final Fantasy VII Remake series and is planned for release in Q3 2027; the sixth DLC, themed around the Persona series, is scheduled for Q4 of the same year. The roadmap's content consists of free updates, individually paid theme packs, and Season Pass additions.
