On the 9th, the Chiba Prefectural Board of Education announced that it had dismissed a female teacher in her 30s from a local public junior high school for disciplinary reasons. The board stated that the teacher had repeatedly molested a female student in the class for which she served as homeroom teacher.
According to the board, the incidents occurred between January and July of this year. The teacher allegedly took the student to her home approximately once every two weeks and committed acts of molestation.
The issue came to light in early July after the Board of Education received an anonymous inquiry email. The principal subsequently confronted the teacher involved, who admitted to the misconduct.
