Skybound announced the Skybound Visions comic initiative at New York Comic Con 2026, with Turok: Son of Stone among the first titles. This comic is scheduled for release on March 10, 2027. The initiative invites creators to reinterpret existing characters through standalone stories.
Turok: Son of Stone, written by Stephen Graham Jones and illustrated by Leandro Fernández, follows Turok as he falls into a valley during an excavation in New Mexico. The valley spans different eras, featuring both Ice Age environments and dinosaurs. Turok must find his way back to his son and uncover the truth behind this world.
Skybound executive Sean Mackiewicz stated that Skybound Visions aims to showcase creators' personal interpretations of familiar characters. While Turok is well-known among gamers, the newly announced Turok: Son of Stone is a comic book.
Other initial releases include the Transformers comic Bumblebee: Lost Planet and the G.I. Joe comic Dr. Mindbender's Island. The former, set for release on January 27, 2027, follows Bumblebee stranded on an alien planet after a Decepticon attack. The latter, launching on February 2, 2027, centers on Flint leading a team to a remote island on a rescue mission.
