"Lockdown Protocol" Launches "City That Never Sleeps" Update, Six Heroes Join Sequentially, Concurrent Player Count Hits New Peak

Following the release of the "City That Never Sleeps" update for Valve's multiplayer game Deadlock, the simultaneous online player count on Steam reached 262,145, setting a new peak record for the title. The game currently still requires an invitation from existing test players to access, and no release window has been announced yet.

《异锁》推出“不夜之城”更新,六名英雄陆续加入、在线人数刷新峰值

"City That Never Sleeps" is the largest update for Deadlock to date, with six new heroes being added gradually rather than all at once. The update also adjusts map facilities, neutral objectives, supply systems, and items.

The map now features steam vents that grant invisibility and regeneration effects when characters stand on them. Existing neutral objectives have been reworked and renamed to Haunts, with multiple types added. Players can also break open sturdy crates on the map with heavy attacks or find hidden snacks that provide healing effects.

Additionally, Golden Statues have been renamed to Buff Containers, with related mechanics providing effects such as Spirit Resistance, Ability Range, Bullet Resistance, and Movement Speed. The update also introduces Corrupted Items, refreshes the event feed, and adds a dialogue viewing feature in the Hideout.
