One-Punch Man Season 3 will return in 2027, with the newly released first trailer for the second half showcasing upcoming storylines. Unfortunately, One-Punch Man has been one of the more controversial anime series in recent years. Despite the franchise's tenth anniversary, fans often focus more on the gap in animation quality between the first season and subsequent ones. However, the second half of Season 3 still has a chance to redeem its reputation.
The first half of One-Punch Man Season 3 finished airing in 2025, and shortly thereafter, the production team confirmed that the second half was in production. During New York Comic Con 2026, footage from the new episodes was revealed for the first time, confirming a January 2027 premiere. Viz Media also shared the first trailer and poster.
The second half of One-Punch Man Season 3 is part of the Winter 2027 anime season and will premiere in January of that year, though the exact date and streaming platforms have not yet been announced. Previously aired episodes are available on Hulu with both Japanese and English audio tracks. There is also much to look forward to in the new episodes' storyline.
Season 3 also unveiled a new opening theme, "Never Done -SUPREME POWER VS ULTIMATE FEAR-" performed by JAM Project, which fans can hear for the first time in the new trailer. The new episodes are still directed by Shinpei Nagai, produced by J.C.STAFF, with series composition by Tomohiro Suzuki, music by Makoto Miyazaki, and character designs by Tadashi Kubota, Shinjiro Kuroda, and Ryosuke Shirakawa. Since the production team remains unchanged, some fans have expressed concern.
Unfortunately, Season 3 continues to divide fans. Although it improves upon the heavily criticized second season in several aspects, it has still attracted significant negative feedback. Meanwhile, viewership data since the series aired has remained quite impressive. The second half may draw more attention than the first, as there will be more battles between S-Class heroes and the most powerful monsters.
Adapted from ONE's original work, the "Monster Association Arc" is the longest arc in the series to date, and Season 3 has officially entered this storyline. Some of the battles will push S-Class heroes to new heights, with Tatsumaki's fight being particularly noteworthy—we'll see it in the second half. These plot developments are paving the way for the final showdown between Garou and Saitama, but whether we'll see that confrontation soon remains uncertain.
