Yuji Horii's AI-assisted mystery adventure game, "Komiyas Interrogation Room," is now available for free. According to the introduction, the game took approximately 30 minutes to create.
The suspect is Komiyas, a 72-year-old former locksmith implicated in the "Pawnshop Safe Theft Case." By comparing his statements with the evidence, players must identify contradictions, expose lies, and gradually break down his psychological defenses. Komiyas has two stats, "Shaken" and "Resistant," which change based on questions asked and lies exposed. The higher his "Shaken" stat, the easier it is to make him confess. However, if his "Resistant" stat reaches 100, he will remain silent. During the interrogation, players must manage his emotions to prevent him from refusing to speak.
Discussing the development process, Yuji Horii recalled that when he created "The Portopia Serial Murder Case" on personal computers in the past, he handled the story, artwork, and programming all by himself.
He stated that nowadays, with the help of AI, even those who can't draw or program can create a reasonably polished game alone by issuing commands. He expressed surprise at this shift in the development process.
