An original Mario sketch drawn by Shigeru Miyamoto at E3 2004 is currently up for auction at Heritage Auctions, with a bid of $10,500 at the time of writing. Miyamoto is the creator of Mario, and this artwork also bears his signature.
This piece adopts the Japanese shikishi format: the board is made of washi paper, with gold or silver decorative edges. In addition to Mario, a Fire Flower can also be seen in the illustration.
The piece has not yet been graded, but related descriptions state that it is in good condition. The original author believes that its provenance from E3 2004 imbues it with memories of the gaming conventions of that era, regarding it as a collectible piece of gaming history.
