At New York Comic Con 2026, Naruto announced the "Rasengan Project," revealing anime, manga, and game projects planned for the coming years. The schedule extends at least until 2029, with no specific release dates confirmed for any of the currently announced titles.
On the gaming front, revealed titles include a new Naruto card game and a mobile game slated for a global launch. Specific release windows for both games have yet to be announced.
In animation, a four-episode crossover between Naruto and Ninku is planned. Original creators Masashi Kishimoto and Kouji Kiriyama will supervise the original story; Noriyuki Abe, who directed the Ninku anime, will serve as director, with Tetsuya Nishio handling character design. This crossover represents the current form of the previously announced, then indefinitely postponed, Naruto anime return project.
A new manga titled Naruto: Rise of the Shadows is also in the works, with Masashi Kishimoto involved in its creation. The story is set after the original Naruto series but before the events of Boruto. Further details about the "Rasengan Project" are expected to be revealed during Jump Festa 2027.
