ComicBook.com launched a character pairing poll on X (formerly Twitter) for the crossover comic "Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembled," scheduled for release in January 2027, asking readers which Star Wars and Marvel characters they would most like to see battle or team up. Among the four options, Darth Vader versus Doctor Doom took the top spot with 68.4% of the vote.
Spider-Man teaming up with Luke Skywalker came in second with 18.2%, while the pairing of Captain America and Han Solo received 8.3%, and Princess Leia with Mystique garnered 5.1%. These figures only reflect the choices made by readers who participated in the poll among the four given options.
"Star Wars/Marvel: Hope Assembled" is co-created by Kevin Smith and David Marquez, with variant covers illustrated by several other artists. The story is set during the era of "Star Wars: A New Hope."
The poll results show that participants most want to see Darth Vader face off against Doctor Doom; however, the information currently available does not confirm that this matchup will be featured in the comic.
