Mark Rosewater, Head Designer of Magic: The Gathering, confirmed in response to players that each of the six sets planned for release in 2027 will be accompanied by at least four Commander preconstructed decks. Based on this calculation, these six sets will total at least 24 decks; this figure does not represent the final overall count across all channels and product lines for the entire year.
For comparison, the number of Commander preconstructed decks released with each set in 2026 was uneven: some sets had none, while others had only one or two. Additionally, 2026 featured decks from Foundations and Secret Lair, which need to be distinguished by source when compiling statistics.
Currently, the 2027 Marvel Darkhold Destiny series has revealed four Commander preconstructed decks. Earlier releases such as Nauctis and other sets have not yet disclosed specific details about their corresponding decks.
