Escape the Backrooms will launch its "After the Party" themed update in December 2026, adding three new levels and party-themed skins for players to wear. Publisher Secret Mode announced this news on October 8.
This update was previously teased at the Triple-I Initiative showcase event. The party theme will be combined with the game's existing horror experience: players remain in the Backrooms and must still evade the entities within.
Before the December update arrives, the game plans to release a batch of free and paid cosmetic items in October. Players appear to be able to dress up as in-game entities, though the specific list of costumes has not yet been announced.
Developed by Fancy Games, Escape the Backrooms supports 1-4 player co-op. The game entered Early Access in 2022, has amassed over 12 million players, and currently features more than 30 levels. It is available on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
