The 2D platformer "Jump Adventures" has switched from paid to permanently free on Steam, allowing players to add the game to their library and play it directly. This change was introduced alongside an update that improved the game's visuals and added a new movement mechanic.
Indie developer Daniel Nesov announced plans to make the game free in August, and officially removed its original price of around $2.99 on September 24. This is a permanent price adjustment, not a limited-time offer; specific details about the new movement mechanics have yet to be disclosed.
"Jump Adventures" features hand-drawn visuals and ambient sound effects. Players control a block to traverse different environments, avoiding traps and obstacles, completing jumps, and collecting special items. Environmental conditions such as wind can also help the block progress through levels. The game supports customizing the block's appearance and includes Steam achievements and statistics tracking.
The developers describe the game as a short journey. So far, it has received relatively few reviews on Steam, with almost all of them being positive.
