"Scapegoat God" Plans to Launch Early Access on Steam on October 14, Supporting Up to Eight-Player Co-op Exploration of Floating Islands

The open-world survival crafting game "Scapegoat Deity" is scheduled to launch in Early Access on Steam on October 14, 2026. It supports up to eight players cooperating to explore procedurally generated floating islands. Developed by the indie team Nowhere Studios, the game features a hand-drawn art style and builds its story and settings around absurd humor.

Players take on the role of a newcomer thrust into a bizarre world. The god Ral, who created this world, tasks players with solving its problems. Players can farm, gather resources, fish, build bases, complete quests, and engage in combat.

The development team aims to reduce the constant pressure typical of traditional survival mechanics. Food provides optional buffs, and sleep is not mandatory for progression; players are free to schedule their own time for exploration, building, and questing. Combat offers melee, ranged, and magical options.

The co-op mode allows up to eight players to join the same game session, exploring floating islands together, building shared bases, and battling enemies and bosses.

The developers stated that they have conducted multiple tests recently. If progress continues as planned, they hope the Early Access phase will last about three months, and they intend to expand the game with updates and additional content after the full release.
