Animation studio White Fox has confirmed production of "I Became King by Eating Monsters," scheduled for release in 2027, with the first key visual already unveiled. White Fox is known for producing "Re:Zero - Starting Life in Another World."
The anime is an adaptation of the ongoing light novel series written by Daken and illustrated by Shiba, which also has a manga adaptation. Following the announcement of the anime, both Shiba (light novel illustrator) and Karin Suzuragi (manga illustrator) created commemorative visual illustrations.
The story follows Mars, the first prince of the Kingdom of Farune. At just 12 years old, he fears assassination attempts, as his meals are almost always laced with deadly poison. To avoid starvation, he secretly leaves the castle to fight monsters in the nearby forest, surviving on their meat. Later, a mysterious red-haired woman takes him under her wing, changing his life forever.
The official project website is now live. Currently, only a 2027 broadcast window has been confirmed; the specific date and quarter have not yet been announced. Trailers, staff details, and the voice cast will be revealed at a later time.
