"Naruto Card Battle" Planned for Global Release in June 2027 with Three Starter Decks at Launch

Bandai Namco Entertainment has announced that the trading card game "Naruto Card Battle" is planned for a global simultaneous release in June 2027, launching with three pre-constructed starter decks. This title is part of the "PROJECT RASENGAN" initiative, featuring artwork by Studio Pierrot and focusing on battles between characters from the Naruto series.

The release date, launch products, and trial event plans are scheduled to be announced at New York Comic Con 2026. The three starter decks feature themes centered around Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Gaara, each with distinct tactical styles, allowing players to jump into battles with ready-to-play decks right out of the box.

The first booster set, titled "Naruto Appears!", will be released concurrently, featuring characters from "Naruto" and "Naruto Shippuden." Players can use these cards to strengthen their starter decks or build their own custom decks.

Decks include Leader Cards, Character Cards, EX Character Cards, and Chakra Cards. The color of the Leader Card determines which cards can be used and the tactical direction; victory is achieved by reducing the opponent's Leader HP to zero. Some characters can consume Chakra to activate Ninja Techniques, while EX Characters require specific conditions to enter play. The developers emphasize that predicting your opponent's moves is a crucial part of battling.

More details are expected to be revealed at Jump Festa 2027, held on December 19–20, 2026. The official plan also includes hosting early access events at selected card shops worldwide starting in February 2027, giving players a chance to try the game and learn the rules; after launch, store tournaments leading up to world championships will be gradually rolled out.
