The operations team for the Chinese server of Tencent's Tom Clancy's The Division 2 announced that the game will cease operations in mainland China on December 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM. On October 12 at 11:00 AM, the game had already stopped accepting top-ups and new user registrations.
The operations team stated that the shutdown is due to changes in business development strategy, following negotiations with the developer, Ubisoft. On December 14 at 11:00 AM, the game servers and official website will be shut down, preventing players from logging in; the forums and dedicated customer service will close on December 22 at 11:00 AM. The officials announced that after the servers are shut down, player account data and character information will be deleted in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Law.
The announcement also listed compensation events from October 14 to December 14, aiming to replace unspent premium points and active game services in player accounts through compensation packs, coupons, or lottery draws. Specific replacement rules and claimable content are subject to the details on the announcement page.
Tom Clancy's The Division 2 was developed by Ubisoft Massive and released internationally in 2019. Tencent partnered with Ubisoft in 2021 to secure publishing rights for the Chinese server; the Chinese version entered open beta on November 29, 2023, adopting a free-to-play model with microtransactions, differing from the buy-to-play model of the international version.
