"Outward: Definitive Edition" is currently on sale for 95% off on Steam, priced at $1.99, with the offer lasting until October 22. The Definitive Edition includes the base game and two DLCs, and the Steam page indicates that the game is Steam Deck Verified.
The Definitive Edition includes the DLCs "Outlaws of the Veilchess" and "The Three Brothers." The original game, released in 2019, is an open-world RPG with survival mechanics, focusing on exploration in a fantasy world. Players take on the role of ordinary people rather than predestined heroes; the game supports local and online co-op and features challenging gameplay.
Reviews and playtime can serve as references for purchase: the game's media aggregate score at launch was in the low 60s, while its Steam user score stands at 73 based on nearly 16,000 reviews. One player mentioned playing 432 hours with their partner via split-screen, but this experience does not represent the typical time commitment required.
Based on current estimates, completing the main story takes approximately 30 to 50 hours, while a complete experience of the base game requires around 100 hours; these times do not include the two pieces of DLC.
