A new international poster for Avengers: Doomsday has been released. Robert Downey Jr. will portray Victor Von Doom, also known as Doctor Doom; he was previously well-known to Marvel Cinematic Universe audiences for his role as Tony Stark, Iron Man.
The film is directed by the Russo Brothers. According to Marvel's official announcement, heroes from three different worlds will face a survival threat of greater scale.
The new poster does not reveal how the main conflict will be resolved. The fates of the characters, the nature of the major battles, and the final outcome remain undisclosed. Whether characters from different series will meet, and whether there is a narrative connection between Robert Downey Jr.'s portrayal of Doctor Doom and his previous role as Iron Man, has not been confirmed by the released plot details.
Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for release in mainland Chinese theaters on December 16.
