Kinetic Games announced that since launching Early Access in 2020, Phasmophobia has surpassed 30 million combined sales on PC and consoles. The annual Halloween event, "Crimson Eyes," is now live and will run until November 1.
During the event, Blood Moon weather will rotate daily across a set of designated maps. Under Blood Moon conditions, ghosts move faster, player sanity drops more quickly, and mission rewards are increased. Completing community goals unlocks ID cards, badges, and trophies, while personal goals offer rewards such as charms, seasonal T-shirts, and trophy upgrades.
As part of the accompanying arrangements, watching two hours of related Twitch streams from October 8 to 15 will reward players with a decorative T-shirt. From October 15 to 22, players can earn double experience points and rewards. The charity event "Ghost Hunts 4 Hearts" will return during the final week of the event, from October 26 to November 1.
Daniel Knight, CEO and Game Director at Kinetic Games, shared that his initial goal when developing Phasmophobia solo was to sell 1,000 copies in the first year. Reaching 30 million copies has left him deeply moved. The game's official 1.0 release is planned for the second half of 2027, and the team will also share previews of ghost designs and gameplay adjustments.
