Insider sources claim the project is progressing slower than expected, with Epic previously underestimating the required manpower. The game is reportedly set to feature characters from both Marvel and Star Wars.

Regarding the development process, media reports citing internal information from a project lead state that developers were required to use tools like Anthropic's Claude, art production was shifted to a fully AI-driven workflow, and manual coding was to be discontinued. The report also mentioned that some developers expressed shock at these arrangements during video conferences. These specific requirements have not been individually confirmed publicly by Epic.

An Epic spokesperson responded that the company supports developer-led initiatives leveraging AI to accelerate development. CEO Tim Sweeney also publicly stated that the company is adjusting developers' roles to facilitate greater AI adoption within teams; he said the goal is to enable developers to create more and better content, rather than simply reducing headcount.
