This is the current development goal, but the final result will depend on optimization efforts.

In an interview with Nintendo Everythinggj, Naoki Hamaguchi stated that the team is satisfied with the visual quality of the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Switch 2 version. The new title will be developed simultaneously for the Switch 2 and other platforms, and the team hopes to leverage their previous porting experience to maintain game quality during development.

For lower-performance platforms like the Switch 2, he hopes the team will further optimize to narrow the performance gap between different platforms. He also emphasized that this does not mean all visual elements in the Switch 2 version will see significant improvements. Currently, technical specifications such as frame rate and resolution for the new game's Switch 2 version have not been announced.

Naoki Hamaguchi indicated a playtime of over 100 hours and an installation size of approximately 200GB. The console version may require downloading large amounts of data, while the Switch 2 version will use game cards.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will be released on April 8, 2027, launching on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Switch 2.
