Call of Duty: Black Ops received a small update on PlayStation platforms on October 12, with version number 1.09 for PS4 and 1.009 for PS5. The patch is available for download, but the god mode cheating issue that players are concerned about remains unresolved.
This update was not announced in advance. As of the time of this report, Activision has not confirmed the specific changes or released official patch notes, so it is currently unclear which systems were adjusted by the patch.
Other ongoing issues include exploiting glitches for XP or progression manipulation, poor matchmaking and connection quality, problems with partying up and inviting friends, as well as controller deadzone and input responsiveness concerns. These issues persist, but there is no evidence that they are all within the scope of fixes planned for this patch.
Due to the small download size and the absence of obvious new player-facing changes, MP1st speculates that the update may primarily involve stability improvements; this assumption has not been confirmed by Activision. Call of Duty: Black Ops II, another title updated on the same day, received a separate patch distinct from this update.
