Torchlight: Infinite's Season 14, "Tartarus," is scheduled to launch on October 15. The new season introduces the Underworld Prison gameplay: players can imprison specific powerful enemies they have defeated, nurture them, and obtain loot. The game is currently free to play on Steam.
The prison has 16 cells. Imprisoned monsters will fight each other, devour one another, and grow stronger; players must eventually battle them during a riot, receiving loot based on how they were nurtured. Which enemies are imprisoned and how they are cultivated both affect the final rewards.
The new season will also drop "Recommendation Letters" used to recruit Followers. Followers can learn attack or support skills to complement existing character builds. Youga gains a third Hero Trait, "The Ultimate One," which allows attaching selected spells to devices, developing into three forms focused on repeated casting, teleportation and damage spread, or spell enhancement. Sia's existing traits will also be reworked.
The previous "Emberlight" season gameplay will become permanent content, with adjustments made to its encounter flow, progression, and rewards. A new talent star chart will be added, allowing players to choose their gameplay and reward directions. Endgame content includes rotated bosses and maps, challenges featuring a catch-risk mechanic, and the "Divine Ascension" expanded to 150 floors.
The update also covers new skills, equipment adjustments, and interface improvements. Loot filtering will include priority settings to reduce wait times for displaying items that do not meet criteria.
