The multiplayer first-person shooter "Hood Warfare 2," priced at around $5, recently went viral on social media, reaching a peak of 4,491 concurrent players on Steam. Some believe its appearance and gameplay resemble "Call of Duty," which is one of the reasons the game has attracted attention.
"Hood Warfare 2" was released on October 8. In comparison, the previous title's historical peak concurrent player count on Steam was 68. According to store review data, at the time of writing, the game had a total of 346 reviews, with 74% being positive; the price, online player count, and review ratio all correspond to the status at that time.
Player feedback has been mixed. Some players mentioned that spawn points are easily suppressed, while others felt the game is fun at first but quickly becomes repetitive after playing for a while.
According to the official game description, players will choose a faction on the Chicago-based battlefield and compete with other players for control. The sequel uses Unreal Engine 5, featuring updated graphics and weapon animations, adding maps such as downtown and suburbs, and supporting customization of weapon attachments like sights, magazines, grips, and suppressors.
