Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia has announced that the Japanese-language-only PS5 Digital Edition in "Midnight Black" will be released in Japan on November 19, with a suggested retail price of 55,000 yen (including tax). PlayStation retailers and online stores in Japan will begin accepting pre-orders from October 20.
The system language for this console is limited to Japanese, and it can only be used with PlayStation Network accounts registered in Japan, similar to the dedicated model previously released for the Japanese market.
A standalone disc drive in Midnight Black will also be released on November 19, priced at 11,980 yen (including tax). Players who wish to use physical game discs can purchase it separately.
