French comic artist duo Cecile Brun and Olivier Pichard (also known as Atelier Sentô) have released the PC remake of their Japan-set horror visual novel "Doll Shop."
The Story of a Young Doll Maker
This story follows a reclusive, introverted doll maker living in the Japanese countryside. When his childhood friend returns to the village, he must choose between his beloved dolls and his longing for a new life.
Launch discount in the China region: 10% off, priced at 46 yuan.
The creator clearly lived in Niigata for a year between 2009 and 2010 and has visited the region multiple times over the past two decades. Using watercolor sketches and photos taken during that time as references, all elements of the game were hand-drawn in a graphic novel style on an iPad.
Instead of using dark and horror-themed visuals, they deliberately opted for a warm and colorful style to create a striking contrast in the players' minds.
