Liang Qiwei is the founder of S-Game. According to him, two young team members initially presented a demo to a business representative at a PlayStation executive meeting. Although the content was rough compared to the version seen by the public today, it left an impression.
Afterward, Christian Svensson, Shuhei Yoshida, and other executives were called in to watch the trailer. Liang Qiwei stated that Svensson expressed strong surprise on the spot, which led to the team receiving an invitation to the showcase.
S-Game had previously been involved in mobile game development, and the 2023 PlayStation Showcase was the team's first time participating in an event of such scale. During that showcase, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was one of the titles that drew attention; Phantom Blade Zero also captured players' interest with its action gameplay demo, gaining global recognition.
