Sega has announced the Year 2 content roadmap for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds. The game will add a 1v1 duel mode, and the Season 2 Pass will include six crossover packs. The Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition will also see permanent price reductions. The new mode allows players to compete against AI opponents, random online players, or friends.
Some online matches will feature special rules, ranks, and rewards. A new mechanic called "Duel Boost" will allow players to accumulate energy over time and through item usage, granting speed boosts during races. The parts system will also add a new slot to enhance the effects of single-slot parts.
In terms of crossover content, Godzilla-themed content is scheduled for release on November 3, 2026, followed by Neon Genesis Evangelion content in January 2027. Future updates will include Sanrio Virtual Park, Sega-themed content, a tentative Midgar theme, and Persona series-themed content; some of these have only been assigned quarterly release windows. Additionally, the game will offer free Bayonetta-related content.
Regarding pricing, the Standard Edition will be permanently reduced from $70 to approximately $40, while the Digital Deluxe Edition will drop from $90 to $60. The Season 2 Pass, which includes six crossover packs, is priced at $29.99.
