Rodyne Kanak from Warhammer 40,000: Darktide returns as a psyker boss. He gains a new body and psychic powers, appearing as the "Corrupt Prophet" in the Spillway mission, becoming the boss at the end of the "Deep Sea Horror" mini-campaign. This battle is divided into three phases.
The development team stated that Kanak can transform into a swarm of flies and move around the arena using Warp powers. The team had previously wanted to include a psyker enemy, and Kanak's return made this design possible.
The boss fight has three phases, each with different mechanics, and waves of regular enemies appear between phases. Players need to keep an eye on Kanak's actions, environmental hazards, and surrounding enemies at the same time. The development team stated that when Kanak launches his main attacks, the surrounding enemies will primarily be melee units to control the amount of information players need to process; at higher difficulties, elite enemies including Ogryns will also be added. There are also projectiles in the battle that can be destroyed by shooting.
This boss fight will also be added to the regular mission list and provide additional combat elements in Havoc mode.
