Final Fantasy XIV will undergo a 24-hour server maintenance starting at 6:00 AM EDT on October 12, during which players will be unable to log in and some website features will be suspended. The maintenance coincides with the final hours of the Final Fantasy XV collaboration: the current event will end at 10:59 AM on October 13, leaving players who haven't collected all their rewards only a few hours to participate after maintenance is complete.
The collaboration rewards include the Regalia Type-G mount, which can seat up to four players, as well as Noctis's outfit and hairstyle. The mount can be purchased for 200,000 MGP at the Gold Saucer; players who haven't saved enough MGP will need to participate in related events to earn the currency. Although the collaboration has been rerun multiple times, the date for the next availability has not yet been announced.
Square Enix stated that the extended downtime is related to the introduction of cross-region player matchmaking. This feature is scheduled to launch first in Japan on October 13, allowing players on the Elemental, Gaia, Mana, and Meteor data centers to use Party Finder and Duty Finder without needing to switch to more populated servers to find teammates.
North America and Europe are currently planned to receive this feature before the new expansion launches next January. Players who still wish to claim the collaboration rewards should keep an eye on the maintenance schedule and the exact end time of the current event.
