LINE Yahoo and The Pokémon Company continue their collaboration to regulate secondary market trading for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Starting October 13, Yahoo! Japan Flea Market and Yahoo! Auctions will prohibit listings of sealed booster boxes, empty boxes, or empty packs, and restrict the bulk listing of identical items for a period following new product releases.
The restriction on bulk listings of identical items will apply starting with the "Pokémon Card Game 30th Anniversary Celebration" and will not immediately cover all existing products. The announcement did not specify the exact number of days the restriction will last after a new release; detailed implementation rules will depend on platform notifications.
The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding in July 2023, since which they have collaborated on sharing new product information, reporting infringing products, issuing user alerts, and removing violating listings. The Pokémon Company now plans to further share information on products and distribution channels that may lead to disputes or improper transactions in the secondary market, while LINE Yahoo will enforce listing restrictions on its two trading platforms.
