Shuhei Yoshida was interviewed by 4Gamer at the Osaka Indie Game Festival, discussing over 20 titles he encountered with the site's team on-site. When 4Gamer compiled the exhibition list, they found that about half of the exhibited titles had not been previously covered by the site.
This year's OSAKA INDIE GAMES SUMMIT was held from October 3rd to 4th, hosted by Phoenixx. It was the second edition of the event, taking place about two weeks after the conclusion of that year's Tokyo Game Show. 4Gamer initially thought there wouldn't be many new titles to introduce; Shuhei Yoshida also admitted that he had previously underestimated the scale and content of the event.
Among the titles encountered on-site were an action game where you lose abilities upon completion, a game with endlessly loading screens, and a title featuring a high-speed flying cow using a guitar to excavate ruins. The interview introduced these exhibits alongside hands-on impressions.
The latter part of the interview shifted to the indie game industry. Shuhei Yoshida discussed the power dynamics between creators and publishers, the difficulties major companies face in operating indie brands, and reflected on an initiative he participated in during his time at SIE that was later discontinued.
