A fan-made video imagines what GTA 6 might look like if it launched filled with various bugs. While most fans doubt Rockstar would allow the game to be in such a poor state, others point out that the studio's previous works have also had technical issues.
Anyone who remembers the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk 2077 probably doesn't want to imagine GTA 6 following the same path. However, a fan-made video going viral on Reddit depicts exactly that scenario. The video was created by YouTuber Skill Issue and shared on the platform by user u/Jealous-Beautiful599.
The video takes familiar GTA 6 footage and transforms it into a series of bizarre bugs. It begins with a heavily distorted intro before quickly spiraling out of control. A car sinks into the ground, Lucia spins uncontrollably in mid-air while parachuting, and Jason's head appears without the rest of his body. Towards the end, several riders wander around on seemingly invisible motorcycles, while Jason lights Brian Haigh's cigar as Brian is engulfed in flames.
Will GTA 6 Really Be So Bug-Ridden at Launch?
This absurd parody video received a positive response on Reddit, although many users found it hard to imagine GTA 6 actually releasing in such a state. User u/Walmart_Prices wrote, "It's hilarious, but Rockstar would never let something like this happen to them." This comment resonated with most fans.
Some users believe the "extended preview" of GTA 6 gives them confidence, as Rockstar stated that the extended demo was recorded entirely on the PS5 version. In contrast, Cyberpunk 2077 faced severe problems when released on last-gen consoles like the PS4 and Xbox One. Developer CD Projekt later admitted that the game wasn't sufficiently optimized for those platforms. By comparison, GTA 6 will be exclusive to current-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft, leading some fans to believe it is less likely to suffer similar launch issues.
However, some are less willing to trust Rockstar. They point out that the studio's previous titles also suffered from technical issues at launch. For instance, user u/orphantwin wrote, "Even GTA IV was a mess at launch."
Rockstar has never experienced a launch disaster on the scale of Cyberpunk 2077. Whether GTA 6 can meet fans' expectations technically remains to be seen. It will launch on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on November 19.
